Delete Distractions
What projects are you working on? What project is your priority? Are you good at juggling/multi-tasking multiple projects at a time or do you really operate best when you focus on one thing at a time?
At Coachization, we like to think of Life in terms of Projects. Life is a Project itself. And under the umbrella of Life we have many opportunities to prioritize various projects over the course of our lives. There are different stages and seasons and spaces for everything.
Do you have a variety of interests? They don’t all have to be pursued today, this month, this year. Pick one. It’s okay to set the rest aside for now. It’s also okay to try something (we encourage “Failing” Frequently!) and renegotiate how meeting that need/want/value of yours can be met in a different way —one that fits into your life better at the moment. You can do it all over your lifetime — but you don’t have to do it all right now.
It’s one thing to follow one’s energy and it’s another to truly set yourself up for success and put the tools in place to help you succeed in what you’re choosing to focus on and prioritize.
Having an entire room, away from distractions, was my first and best step. I call it my Studio because it is where I create. I need and want to create! Is there a space that would set you up for success and reduce distractions?
Next, I want you to prioritize you. I want you to identify your highest energy time of day and use that time to work on the project you have prioritized. Almost everything else can wait for a different time of day, don’t you think?
As a Coach and Organizer, I am creating a supportive system and I would love nothing more than for it to inspire others - because I know if I’m struggling with something – then others are too. And I know the feeling of finally conquering something: exercising, organizing, a work project — and then I’m like, well that wasn’t so hard. And I get a little embarrassed and think I’m the only one who struggles with using my life, time, and energy wisely:)
Share your gifts with the world on purpose and fearlessly. Go where your strengths are. The world needs you! Get back to your purpose and vision.
I inspire myself and others to live our ideal lives. My tools are organization and self-coaching. I would love to hear what your purpose, vision and tools are — and if you don’t know I’d love to help you gain clarity around it at Coachization.
