Make the Choice to Let Go of Control

Dear Coachable Organized You,

We have all heard that we’re not in control of anything anyway - or that the only thing we can control is ourselves. Great, let’s go with that.

The premise of Coachization is that life is messy and, frankly, we like order - or at least a sense of order. And while we can’t control the mess, we can make choices that strengthen whatever areas of our lives we want to strengthen. And in doing so we can weather the messes better.

So if you can’t actually control anything - what can you choose? Coaching is very much about making choices. It gently forces you to live your life more consciously, more on purpose. You can hire a coach to coach you one-on-one or you can learn how to self-coach yourself better - because we’re always self-coaching - we just want to get better at it.

That’s where Coachization comes in, where we combine self-coaching and organization to bring more order into our lives. While order may give us a sense of control, its true purpose lies in being able to live our lives more authentically and on-purpose. After all, there’s a lot we want to do - so to fit it all in it may just help to have more order so we can create the time, space, and energy to experience what we most want to experience.

So forget about control or even the sense of control. What are you choosing? Would creating more order through self-coaching and organization help you make choices that are more in alignment with who you are and what you want to do?

Self-Coaching snippet around “Choice” ~

Consider the following Self-Coaching questions:

If I can’t actually control anything - what can I choose?

What is it that I am choosing?

How would creating more order through self-coaching and organization help me make choices that are more in alignment with who I am and what I want to do?
